This image keeps on selling via Alamy, must have sold it a dozen times to the newspapers now! It was taken on a cold winter’s day whilst out shopping with my wife and mother-in-law. Just a very ordinary shopping trip but I often carry my camera with me. I did more so in those days.
It is the entrance to Northamptonshire County Constabulary HQ, in Northampton town.

Many of us will be well aware of the current economic problems the country (world even) is facing, the housing market is changing, prices are coming down but not only that far more people now rent in the UK than ever before. Many more housing developments are therefore shifting their emphasis from encouraging people to buy but to rent from new instead. This would also indicate that less people are buying to rent, a trend that would seem now to be far less attractive than it ever was in the past, especially considering the economic downturn.
It is for this reason that I have been looking out for subjects that tell a story about the signs of our times. This is an angle worth taking, as you can capture great stock images that could right now be itching to be applied to a magazine page somewhere and thus making you money into the bargain. Sometimes you need to work out in your mind how your picture could be used by a client. Quite literally a case of trying to see with the clients eyes.
I have today discovered a wonderful website called Oobject and in particular the page relating to Stereo Cameras. It is a wonderful example of how WordPress can be used as a CMS and not just a blogging platform or of course both as we do with this website.
How can you describe Oobject? Well as already suggested, it isn’t quite a blog! It is all about design both in terms of general objects (buildings for example) and or gadgets (such as the stereo cameras shown here). Oh heck, I am not explaining this very well, clickety click on http://www.oobject.com/about-oobject/ to learn more about it and why I am going to make it a permanent link on our new links page!
