Friday 7th November

I am delighted to announce that my creatinine has dropped to 150, which is the best to date and we hope that this trend may continue. However it has in the past jumped upwards on a number of occasions, so I cannot be too nonchalant about this. Dr Andrews has now given me the thumbs up to cut down my Prednisilone (steroids) medication from 10mg to 5mg per day, which is a positive step in the right direction. I will be back in for two days next week but thereafter, can go back just one day a week, which is more great news! This does mean that the transplant diary will probably start to wind down, as there won’t be quite so much to write about and I don’t want to keep on writing about creatinine levels all of the time. I will write about it from time to time but may bundle things up a bit more into single monthly updates on this subject. Once my appointments at St Helier fizzle out towards the end of the year, I wish to remain involved in various ways with the Renal unit as they have been fantastic, I feel that I cannot just walk away into the distance, as it were!
