If you are observant you will notice that this shot was not taken recently. It was taken back in Spring, one from the archives that I haven’t published here before and it is a cropped image from a larger file that had too much going on in it, hundreds of birds surrounded these ones that I was most interested in.
Black headed gulls look very different at this time of year as their plumage changes and for awhile they cease to be “Black Headed Gulls”, look out for gulls that have white heads but black spots by their ears, orangey-yellow beaks with orange tips.
